Folklore in La Libertad

La Libertad has several of the Peruvian North Coast dances, which no doubt the Marinera Norteña occupies a special place.

Of the Northern Sea, its exact origin is unknown. It acquired characteristics of northern colonial native dances and it was known as a marine during the independence of Peru (1821).

Regarding the typical dress of the ladies must mention that there is no Marinera dresses, but rather the dancers must wear typical dresses of the Northern towns running this style of seafood, that yes, always dancing with bare feet. The use of slippers, ballerinas, or any type of footwear for the interpretation of this dance is unacceptable.

In males the typical costume of Assistant is well-known with his poncho of thread and his wide-brimmed straw hat, but also, in some villages of the North used the simple sewing white denim suits characteristic of the Peruvian northern coast. As for footwear, it must be black and dress.
